3 Kittens Dumped in a Cardbaord Box in Cwmbran Town Centre
These 3 kittens were found in a taped up cardboard box left
outside the
Mecca Bingo hall in Cwmbran Town Centre late on Friday night by a security
guard. They are about 6 months old and are 2 grey and white, one with an eye
missing and the other with a severe eye infection and one ginger and white.
The guard kept them overnight and rang us on Saturday
morning to ask if we
could help and they are now in our care.
Although frightened initially, the kittens are very affectionate and lively
and will make great pets once their eyes are treated, though that can take
some time.
Once again, someone chose to subject these kittens to a needless ordeal
rather than pick up the telephone to ask for help. We really can't
understand why a person would do this when there is so much assistance
available to them for the cost of a phone call. Kitten season is looming
again and to avoid the huge numbers of unwanted kittens in our area again
this year, we urge all cat owners to have their cats neutered as soon as
they are 5 or 6 months old and at any time over that age. Neutering vouchers
towards the cost are available for those on benefits or low income by
ringing the Gwent Cats Protection helpline on 07976 223329.
